Details The SPIM-01 UPB GEN II module is plugged into a wall outlet and connects to a PC through the use of a cable connected to a serial port. The SPIM converts serial signals to UPB powerline signals.
Features/Applications The SPIM-01 UPB GEN II module is plugged into a wall outlet and connects to a PC through the use of a cable connected to a serial port. The SPIM converts serial signals to UPB powerline signals. The SPIM module plugs into a standard electrical outlet and has a pass-through plug. The serial cable connects to a DB-9 connector on the bottom of the module. Installation Installation involves plugging the SPIM module into an available outlet, then connecting the serial cable between the DB-9 connector on the bottom of the SPIM module to an available serial port connector on the PC. Some newer PCs do not have serial port connectors. In that case, the user can use a USB to serial adapter to connect the cable.
